The world is gradually returning to normal after the Corona crisis and the number of players is adjusting again
As reported in the past few weeks, there has been a real online poker boom and the number of players has risen everywhere amidst the COVID-19 crisis. Although there hasn’t been any solution to the pandemic yet, the world is gradually returning to normal as global exit restrictions are gradually being relaxed.
You can see this with the help of PartyPoker and the French provider Winamax. Before the corona crisis, there was a 7-day average of around 2,200 cash game players. PartyPoker was almost 3,000 players and Winamax was at 6,000. In the meantime, however, those figures are going back to normal as Winmax now has around 3,600 and PartyPoker around 2,400.
It is assumed that everything will go back to the original level in terms of player numbers in the next 3-4 weeks. Additionally, the number of players will remain slightly above the normal average since all major live events have been canceled. Casinos are closed and everything game is played online. The online poker world will still take some momentum with it in the future.
Operators that accept players from the US are not nearly as far as those in Europe in terms of the situation and the easing, as the number of players is still incredibly high. The Winning Poker Network (WPN) has a 7-day average of approx. 1,500 cash game players which are almost twice as high as normal and the Chico network still has 900 players – which are twice as many players as usual. But here too, as with European providers, it will calm down as soon as the situation in the USA improves.
Because the game numbers have returned to normal, you can see how big the distance between ggpoker network and PartyPoker is. The only poker site that has increased in terms of the number of players is GGPoker and that won’t change either. GGPoker vigorously stirs the advertising drum and the tendency continues to point steeply upwards.
