In partnership with GGPoker, WSOP’s new winter series to debut at Atlantis Paradise Island, the Bahamas
Following a summer of record-breaking achievements, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) – the most affluent, esteemed, and enduring poker series – is setting its course for paradise this winter. The destination? A fresh live tournament poker series, WSOP Paradise. This brand-new series, brought to life through a collaboration with GGPoker, is scheduled to unfold from December 3-14, 2023, at the luxurious Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
WSOP Paradise is a continuation of the momentum sparked by the historic 54th annual WSOP, held at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip earlier this summer. The series will showcase 15 bracelet events, with WSOP Paradise headlining a whopping $50 million in guaranteed prize pools. This includes a $5,000 Main Event with a $15 million total prize pool guarantee, and a $1,500 Mystery Bounty with a $5 million guarantee.
Moreover, WSOP Paradise will offer unmatched value for High Rollers: A colossal $100k event with $5 million guaranteed, a $50k event with $2 million guaranteed, two Pot Limit Omaha events with seven-figure guarantees, and a signature $25,000 GGMillion$ event with an astounding $10 million total prize pool guarantee.
“The summer was a triumph like no other, but our aspirations for WSOP Paradise are just as high,” stated Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of the WSOP. “We are partnered with the most formidable online entity globally, and they are poised to dispatch a record number of qualifiers to a live tournament. Atlantis has a rich poker history, and we believe this partnership can create poker’s most influential new franchise for the foreseeable future. Many players argue that summer in Vegas is the pinnacle of the year. We hope that it will soon be challenged by winter in paradise.”
GGPoker, which dispatched 774 players to the Main Event at this summer’s WSOP, has committed to sending at least 1,000 players to WSOP Paradise. Online qualifiers and tournament promotions, including hotel accommodations with special rates for tournament players, will be accessible at ggpoker.com at a future date.
“GGPoker is thrilled to initiate WSOP Paradise and greet hundreds of players from across the globe to Atlantis Paradise Island this December,” expressed Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Global Ambassador. “It promises to be an extraordinary experience, showcasing the finest of poker at one of the world’s most opulent resorts!”
“As Atlantis celebrates its 25th anniversary, we are embarking on a new era for the resort, revealing a multimillion-dollar transformation of the Atlantis Casino. This is complemented by revamped guestrooms at The Royal and Michelin star chef dining experiences, all in time for the WSOP Paradise event. We eagerly anticipate the arrival of WSOP Paradise this winter and are excited to host the premiere of this elite tournament series for players and their fans,” said Joe Brunini, Chief Gaming & Customer Development Officer Atlantis Paradise Island, the Bahamas.
